Happy, Happy Birthday Baby

Carolyn, Care Bear, Bear Bear, my biggest little rascal. You were SO HARD those first three years, always getting into everything, never listening, with such a strong will.

Then something happened after your third birthday. You started turning into the sweet and loving girl that you are now.

You are so helpful around the house and are so good to your sisters. I'm blown away by how smart and talented and dedicated you are. I'm so happy with your decision to get baptized. I can't believe you are eight years old today.

Baby Shower Favors

I made these shoe cookies for my friend Leslie's baby shower. Turned out pretty cute, eh? Betcha can't guess what kind of cookie cutter I used.

(I don't know why blogger is being so difficult with my pictures. That picture is supposed to be horizontal. And Carolyn's pictures aren't supposed to be overlapping. Maybe someday I'll figure out how to operate this thing.)

More Fun with Whole Wheat

This isn't exactly a healthy recipe, but everyone eats cookies sometime. I consider these a better alternative to the traditional chocolate chip cookie. They are made with oats and whole wheat flour, no white flour at all. But you'd never guess it by tasting them. They are delicious. These are the only chocolate chip cookies that I actually prefer to eat the next day instead of straight out of the oven. They just have so much flavor that comes out when they are cool and I love the texture that the oats create.

I found this recipe online somewhere...I don't remember where. I wish I could so that I could give credit to whomever this recipe belongs to.

Sorry there are no pictures. I'm feeling too lazy to take a pictures of cookies and upload them.

It's a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood

The weather forecast said it would be 65 today so we had a picnic at the park with our RS playgroup. It was a little muddy but beautiful, and so nice to get out of the house and see friends. The temp on my car said that it actually hit 70. If only this nice weather were here to stay. I hear they're calling for snow this weekend.
