New Kitchen

We've finally finished all of the things that we've wanted to do in our kitchen (except maybe for strategically placed halogen pot lights like Candice Olsen, my favorite designer, would do). The most recent change is our new stainless steel appliances. We've been wanting them so we can increase our resale value for whenever we move but I had a hard time justifying replacing four appliances that worked. But the Sears Outlet had a 50% off sale on all of their stainless steel refrigerators and we decided to take the plunge. We bought the rest of the appliances a few weeks later at the Sears buy more, save more sale and got an extra 20% off the sale prices. I think we did pretty well and increased the value of our house by more than we actually spent on it. Now practically the whole kitchen is different from when we bought the house. Here's what we've done: granite counters with undermount sink, travertine tile backsplash (I installed it myself when I was several months pregnant! Girl power!), undercabinet lighting (Greg installed them and they're even hard-wired!), new faucet, new light fixtures, new cabinet knobs, added a cabinet above the built-in desk, crown molding on cabinets and walls, wainscoating, laminate floor, and paint. Oh, and the roses in the picture were a surprise from Greg. I am one spoiled girl! We had a rare date on Friday and went to Bonefish Grill where we had a buy one get one free coupon. Then we went to Friendly's where we had another bogo coupon for Friend-Z's. So it was a fun and economical night!

It looks great. Amazing how the stainless steel makes such a difference. Too bad you don't have a before picture to post.

Nichole, your kitchen is beautiful! And you look great for having recently had a baby. I don't dare post a picture of myself! Hope you're doing well. =) Say hi to Greg and the girls for me!
