Running Again

Last night I dusted off my running shoes and went for a jog/walk for the first time in almost a year (thanks for the inspiration Kevin and HolliJo). I felt like lead and my squishy baby belly was jiggling in front of me and the whole time I kept thinking about how I wanted to stop. But today I can feel a little soreness--not the I-can't-move/first-week-of-Body-for-Life soreness--in my thighs and lower abs and it feels great. Hopefully I can keep it up and maybe do the turkey trot again this year. But I have a looong way to go before I can run that again. Anyone want to do it with me? We can suffer together.

Sorry there's no picture to go along with this post. I had Carolyn take a picture of me when I came home and was all red-faced and sweaty but I look like I'm pregnant in it! It was just to embarrassing to put out there for all to see.

Does anyone have any suggestions for good workout songs? I desperately need new songs for my workout playlist but I don't know what to download.

Good for you!! That is one of the hardest things to do. I know, I keep wanting to be inspired to get out there. It seems like once every other week I get great inspiration to exercise and I work really hard. Then I am sore and miserable the next day, and I love it. But for whatever reason I don't keep it up...

I'll run the turkey trot with you! :) Good for you getting back to running when your baby is only three months old.

So, I have seriously been thinking of good work out songs since I read your post. However, I'm not even sure what I really listen to, so not much comes to mind. I just usually listen to something up-beat (when the music is really slow, I tend to go slower haha). So since I like country, I tend to have some Kenny Chesney. Kevin just downloaded Big Casino by JimmyEatWorld, its pretty upbeat. If we think of anything else good we will let you know. Good job on working out! We were saying this past weekend we should do a family Hood to Coast one yearin Portland... several years down the road.

I like songs that I can run to the beat of. If the beat is slow, my pace slows. I need something with a good tempo. This makes it hard to find a good mix. I wish I could look up songs by their beat length. I don't know the musical term to describe it. Hopefully you know what I mean. I am a nerd.
